Milling Assistant Supervisor
As a Milling Assistant Supervisor with Ernie Ball, Inc you will be responsible for assisting the Milling Supervisor in overseeing the Wood Mill Department within the Music Man factory. You will help coordinate the Wood Mill personnel to meet production goals while working with production planning to reach department quotas. The Milling Assistant Supervisor reports to the Milling Supervisor.
Assist in supervising Wood Mill staff by determining workloads and schedules, continually training, monitoring daily performance and quality, and communicating any production needs or changes with the department.
Recommend solutions to make department more efficient, assist the team to reach set goals, priorities and expectations, and to develop the action plans and strategies for accomplishing them.
Organize staff within the Milling department to ensure that the production goals are met in a timely manner.
Ensure that quality standards are being met at every step throughout the shop and product leaving the Mill passes final inspections.
Adjust production schedules and work with planning department to address company priorities.
Operate woodworking machinery to fabricate musical instruments.
Fabricate fixtures, displays or other items as directed by management or engineering.
Maintain tools and machinery according to assigned schedules or as required.
Work safely and accurately with dangerous machinery and ensure that staff understands and follows all company safety procedures and policies. Ensure safety training is provided to staff and that proper safety practices are followed.
Keep department areas neat, clean and organized.
Assist management with biannual departmental inventory.
Strong woodworking/craftsmanship skills
Experience with CNC machines and various Milling equipment.
Experience working in a fast paced environment when stress is handled in a professional manner.
Work well under pressure and under tight deadlines.
Good communication skills with employees and upper management
Strong problem solving and leadership skills.
Minimum of 3 year supervisory or team lead experience
